buddha's hand?!

I've been spending an ungodly amount of time perusing food blogs lately. "FOOD" has just become a new bookmarks tab. I think it's something winter does to me.

Anyway, just this morning I came across "Buddha's Hand" -- it's a fruit that looks a little bit like a lemon version of Captain Davey Jones in Pirates of the Carribean, Dead Man's Chest.

Observe:

Possibly one step closer to Nirvana for discovering this?

After wiki-ing around for a bit, it seems like Buddha's Hand pretty useless as a fleshy fruit for consumption, but the sheer surface area of its tentacles make it popular for its zest. It's originally from North India or China, just like the real Buddha!

One use of Buddha's Hand is in homemade limoncello from 52 Kitchen Adventures, enjoy!

That's a wrap, folks. More food discoveries to come.
