flying off of Everest

most kayakers who've been to Nepal know that Babu Sunuwar is one of the best paddlers out there. a few also know that he's a pretty badass paraglider. true story. i reckon even fewer people know that Babu and a mate just summitted Everest, tandem flew down, and should be now putting on the Dudh Kosi River that flows off the side of the mountain.

anyway, it's pretty big news in the adventure community. read about it here.

in that picture you might also notice something a little familiar from my old kayaking days. that helmet! i traded it for some paragliding lessons a couple years ago, and now that old yellow thing is on top of Everest. makes me look at what I've accomplished since then... very little, unless you count bing words on the scrabble board.

anyway, hats off to Babu and Lakpa Tshering Sherpa -- you guys rock.
